There seems to large chunks of information missing in regards to RU58841 and its clinical trial findings. How could something something that seemed so promising, just fall off the map?

The fact that Hoechst-Roussel/Roussel-Uclaf is repsonsible for two other fairly large drugs in the last decade. The morning-after pill for birth control (RU486, which was discovered in France-1980 and later brought to the US) and Immunex (used for treating bone cancer).
In an article I've read "corporate politics" is whats held things up, are you kidding me? I've read in another tidbit, RU simply shut down their Derm division. Ummm how and why, with a drug that's potentially that potent?
