Ru Doing More Harm Than Good? When To Stop?

Hit the 4 month mark on RU. Shedding continues. My understanding was that RU might do very little but could really do little harm. Is it possible that RU is accelerating Hairloss? I came in with low expectations, hopefully a slow down free from the risks of Finasteride. I’ve been consistently using 5% 6ml in stemox everyday.

Not sure if I should still try for a 6 month mark.

How do you know when to stop or to try another treatment?

I've got a similar mindset to RU. I felt like i gained ground the first couple of months but slipping back now - i cant but help feel that it also upregulates the receptors so they become more sensitive.

I'd be too scared to stop now though.

Tried RU from Anagen and quit within a couple of weeks. Felt like shedding increased immediately since I started using so I assumed I was having an allergic reaction to it or something. I was using the pre-mixed liquid formula, though. Makes me wonder if I would have gotten different results if I purchased the powder instead and prepared the solution myself.

Stemoxydine gave me a hell of a shed, I used Garnier fructis for around 3 months and it was terrible - hairs everywhere and made my hair greasy too.. after stopping it the shed subsided.

I have used RU for 10 months now. I use 50mg/1.5ml stem at night after showering and in the morning. I have read that it doesn't need to be used twice a day but I have substantially less scalp itch throughout the day if I use RU in the morning.

Granted I am using a lot of other stuff but I feel like it has helped me maintain. As with many treatments, it can cause a shed and you really aren't going to see a benefit for 6-12 months. People may never see regrowth. I believe it is mostly for maintenance.

Thanks Alex, I’m only hoping for maintenance but the shed is taking a toll. I will ride out 6 months at least. I don’t seem to respond well to topicals. The rogaine shed lasted 2 months and was catastrophic.

It’s all diffuse loss which makes it hard as I can feel the difference and I notice the fissures but the doctors and family all think things ‘look good’
