Is there any woman here who tried RU? Success? Results? Sides? I'd like to order it from anagenic. Thanks.

Hi joe1111, for a women there are much better treatments like androcur or flutamide that you can take orally.
Just do so under medical supervision.
RU58841 isn't all that to be honest been on it 4 months and hair is probably in a worse condition if anything.
RU58841 looks great in theory but not that great in practice.
Good luck.

Thank you so much! I'm a little afraid about androcur honestly, but I will think about it. What about Duta?

Women are frequently prescribed spironolactone for dermatological conditions like hormonal acne or hair loss. RU58841 and spironolactone are both anti-androgens: they block testosterone and dihydrotestosterone from having an effect. Blocking androgens is generally fine in women, but has unwanted side effects in men, so many men use RU58841 since it generally stays in the scalp tissue without entering the rest of the body. But women can take oral antiandrogens because they generally don't worry about that.

spironolactone is the antiandrogen most commonly prescribed for dermatological conditions, so if you see a dermatologist that's probably what they'll give you. spironolactone tends to be a bit of a crap antiandrogen though since it has side effects unrelated to its antiandrogen properties. Bicalutamide is a different antiandrogen that is generally safer and is gaining popularity among transgender women and the doctors who treat them. CPA or Androcur is common in some countries, but not in the United States due to its liver toxicity.

Dutasteride works on a different mechanism. It prevents conversion of testosterone into DHT. It is sometimes used in women, but generally spironolactone is used as the first line defense in women instead. Dutasteride can have neurological side effects (admittedly rare) because it sometimes prevents the formation of some neurosteroids.

Thank you, you ve been very exaustive. I'll check with a derm asap. I surely have female pattern baldness cause I see miniaturized hairs but I also have Telogen Effluvium right now which made an initial alopecia a lot worse another question: what happens if I take RU three/four times a week instead of everyday?

Also, I do understand that hair regrowth is very rare and unlike, but can you get your miniaturized hair to become thicker if you re lucky ? Im sure I'm at a very early stage, I don't think my bulbs are all Dead

Truthfully, not much is known about RU58841 because of its experimental nature. Everything that I'm about to say is not proven and based basically on speculation: I believe that RU58841 has a short elimination halflife, so taking it less often will mean that you will have essentially none left in your body on the days you don't take it. Therefore I would expect to see a lesser therapeutic effect.

Like I stated before, I really don't see much benefit for women to use RU58841 instead of upgrading to stronger antiandrogens like spironolactone, bicalutamide, or even CPA.

Also, I do understand that hair regrowth is very rare and unlike, but can you get your miniaturized hair to become thicker if you re lucky ? Im sure I'm at a very early stage, I don't think my bulbs are all Dead

Yes, you're correct in saying that hair regrowth is unlikely - however, miniaturized hair is the most likely to benefit. Even if its unlikely, miniaturized hair regrowing is the most likely of the unlikely outcomes, if that makes sense. It's almost impossible to regrow hair from slick bald areas, but making miniaturized hair healthy again is very possible. I'd add a growth stimulant like minoxidil for maximum effect. With minoxidil, I'd be very hopeful for recovery of miniaturized areas.

I ve been on minoxidil for 29 days, only shedding more than before :(

stick with it, 29 days is too soon to see results and increased shedding is a normal side effect of minoxidil before it starts to regrow hair. Shedding is a part of the hair growth cycle - the hairs will grow back stronger after they shed

At 29 days it is perfectly normal. You have to hang in there. At one point I was away for a long weekend, and after towel-drying my hair with a pure white towel, I noticed there were literally hundreds of my dark hairs on the white towel. I spent ages plucking them from the towel one by one before hanging it up to dry, so that nobody (the room cleaner, the friend I was sharing the room with) would notice.
But now I am four months in, and not shedding any more.

Anyway this is me 1.5 months ago and me today after a bad Telogen Effluvium + minoxidil shed. I'll be having no hair left if it keeps going.. now the shed slowed down I hope to see regrowth. I wish I could come back to 1.5 months ago honestly. Someone can confirm me that Androgenetic Alopecia does not make you lose 50% of hair in one month? I've lost all my density

Losing that much that quickly is not very common in androgenic alopecia. Like you said, that could be minoxidil shed/telogen effluvium that will resolve itself within a month or two

Also, its always hard to tell over the internet if hairloss is androgenic alopecia. Also, androgenic alopecia frequently looks different in women than it does in men. Women will usually get more diffuse thinning (looks like what you've got) whereas men will get the horseshoe shaped hairline. But of course, either can occur in either sex.

I'd give a month or so to see if its minoxidil shedding. If it doesn't resolve itself or gets it gets worse, I would see a dermatologist to see if there isn't something else going on.

I do have Androgenetic Alopecia, I know because I've seen miniaturized hair, but it seemed to progress sooo slow. Then 2 months ago I started shedding 300/400 hair per day, like my head was worse at every shower. Then I added minoxidil and things got WORSE. Now my shed almost stopped completely and I'm left with this..

I suppose I had a strong Telogen Effluvium plus minoxidil. Now i shed my 20/30 hairs per shower again with 1/2 miniaturized hairs as always but I'm left with this.

It's really hard to judge hairloss from counting the number of hairs shed, I always suggest looking at pictures. And your pictures clearly show rapid hairloss.

It's possible that you could have an additional medical condition causing hairloss on top of having androgenic alopecia. That'd really suck. Like I said, it's likely that this is just telogen effluvium shedding from medication and it'll resolve itself soon, but if it doesn't definitely get yourself checked out by a doctor because losing that much hair in that short of a time period is uncommon if you have just androgenic alopecia and nothing else.

I started 50 mg spironolactone today and next week I will go 100 mg. Yeah I've been to a derm, wasn't really helpful. Anyway I've dropped 25 kilos in 4 months, I'm afraid that was the cause of the shedding
