Edit from Administrator: This individual is "dermarolling" also. This means he's literally taking needles and puncturing his scalp skin because he believes it will help hair growth. As such, he's introducing the S5 directly into his bloodstream. This is no different than taking oral spironolactone, which we don't advise anyone, due to side effects. The details matter here.
I know topicals usually report very few side effects and S5 cream isn't very strong, but I've been really hitting it hard with this stuff and I seem to absorb topicals well. So I didn't seem to be a great minoxidil responder after 2 years of trying and I got side effects from that such as chest pain. Got on finasteride about 8 months ago and it stopped my hairloss. Been researching this more and I seem to carry a tremendous amount of DHT type 1, not the type 2 because my skin was oily as hell and I had bad acne. Just started dutasteride about a month ago and no side effects and my acne cleared up right away and it changed my skin from an oily to normal skin type. So since I think my hairloss is completely a hormonal imbalance for me, I'm going strong antiandrogen approach and also got the S5 cream. I've been dermarolling and applying after the shower twice a day to the entire scalp. When I first noticed some side effects of the cream was when I applied before bed and my heart was racing a little bit and it took me a while to fall asleep. Somebody reported that the S5 cream was like doing a bump of coke to them and I got this same feeling so although side effects are never good, at least I knew it was working. So I've had some weird side effects lately that have me worried and I related them to the dutasteride as they didn't occur right after application of S5 but later on, but after looking at spironolactone, I believe it to be the cream. I get majorly lethargic sometimes, especially when I drink. I mean not drunk, but ill have a few beers and my coordination goes wack and I get really weak and get the spins where I have to lay down. Like I said I thought this was the dutasteride as it would occur much later, but I think its the S5. What should I do? Just apply once a day? Apply a lot less? See it seems as if it builds up slowly as the side effects are not immediately after, but I get confident and apply a lot and then a few days later my strength goes way down for a bit. Last episode of it, I could feel it coming as I got weaker and weaker and then that night sure enough the loss of coordination and extreme lethargy came. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
