Hi guys,although this is my first post i have been reading this forum for 2-3 months.Now about me i am 28 yo will be 29 this may.i have been losing hairs for last 5 yrs.Weird thing is though both my maternal and paternal grandfather had head full of hair till their last day in their early 80's.But my dad is Norwood 4.5 late 50's and i have 2 uncles one is 4.5 like my dad in early 60's other is Norwood 2.5 in early 50's.
my maternal uncles is Norwood 4 in early 50's too.So basically baldness came from last generation but really depressing thing is non of my uncles or my dad started losing hair till their late 40's while i have been losing hair from early 20's.I also had severe case of dandruff for last 10 yrs.Literally i could feel bumps on scalp and dandruff could be seen under my hair.None of the previous dermatologists were able to cure it effectivly.However current Doctor did manage to get rid of it completly in 6 months.Anyways now he put me on Hairmax forte which contains minoxidil 5% and finax from Dr Reddy's.I have been on
finasteride for 2.5 months minoxidil 2 months and nizoral 1 month.Although i am not sure if it has made the difference on crown.Please see and tell me if it has.I feel thinning is progressing upwards? Also to add another thing ever since my dandruff is gone and i started finastiride my hairloss reduced dramatically.from 10-15 hair every time i rubbed my scalp every time i applied shampoo to 1-2 hairs now.So i guess thats one positive thing....

Minoxidil-90 days
nizoral 2%-2 months


I think there is some improvement.Some opinions will help.

I think there is some definite visual improvement, particularly at your vertex. The thinning spot at your crown now looks more or less like a double cowlick. I think that there is a good chance you are a good responder to your treatments. With any luck, the small area in front of your crown spot will get thicker and you will regain some lost hair at the crown. Either way, it looks good. Congrats!

Thanks.I am hoping this will also help in my hairline as well.It has receded more on the left side due to that when i style my hair it looks weird.I do see small hairs in that area as in those hair are much smaller than rest of the hair around.Not sure if new growth or not.I guess in another month or two it will be more clear.

Update:

Finastiride-135 days (4.5 months)
Minoxidil-120 days (4 months)
nizoral 2%-3 months

I think crown seems nearly filled,although that area is thinner than the rest still.weirdly enough though never experienced any shedding of any sorts.No side effects either fortunately.Also what Norwood i am?

I think there is a big improvment in the crown area frontal area has also improved fair bit.I have had ppl say my hair dont have thin spots now.I am quite glad.That crown area is more or less a cowlick.

You never had a shed? strange its seems that those finasteride min works best dont have a shed.

yeah i never experienced any kind of shed,fortunately .Hopefully it stays that way.

Posting after a very long time.I am glad to say that i dont have any thin areas near crown.Even frontal areas have filled to fair extent.Although not enough to style my hair the way i want.But at the least i dont have to worry ppl will notice i am losing hair.Not many can tell i was ever losing hair.I use hairmax forte brand of minoxidil and i use it once per day only.
