Do Not Use! Saw Palmetto Found to be No More Effective than Sugar Pills in Treating Urinary Symptoms from an Enlarged Prostate [hide all summaries]
(April 2006)
You should not use saw palmetto to control the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland. It is not effective. If you have the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland listed in this article, consult a physician, not the local health food store.

That's funny, because I can give you at least 11 studies right now that have demonstrated that Saw Palmetto clearly improves the symptoms of BPH by reducing dysuria, nocturia, reducing number of voidings, increasing amount voided, and reducing residual volume. In fact, urine flow rate is far more improved in patients taking saw palmetto when compared to finasteride.

Don't believe everything you read on third-party websites.

And if that's true why do some people who take saw palmetto report the same side effects as on propecia?
