Hey guys, I have been on topical minoxidil for 5 years and i am getting huge scalp inflammation / redness/ flaking, which is causing more harm than good. I can't stop the minoxidil because it would be a disaster i guess.
So i have been to my dermatologist to made a compound solution.
But is it the ethanol or the propylene glycol which cause the irritation / flaking?
I have tried a solution of 30% glycerin/ 50% ethanol / 20 % purified water, and I am getting the irritation.....

Is it possible to make a solution with 30 % ethanol / 50 % glycerin / 20 % purified water? will it be stable?

Try Lipogaine for sensitive scalp or Minoxidil foam.

Try a blend of 50% Emu oil in distilled water, shake well to an emulsion, massage in. When you get the amount to use just right, it's not 'greasy' like you'd expect an oil to be. On cold days, feel free to use warmed water for a better emulsion.

Emu oil is a powerful anti-inflammatory, uniquely penetrates deep-down into the hair follicles, right through all the layers of the skin and some think it may outperform minoxidil in its own right for hair growth. I added more % Emu oil recently to my formulas to calm the itching and irritation in my scalp when I added Tretinoin into my formula. It works, calms the scalp fast. Give it a few weeks and you might be stunned what it does for hair re-growth. I am.

Why did you even waste your time with that junk? You're like a Norwood 1.5 with no thinness passed that so what is the minoxidil for? Stay on finasteride, treat your BDD, shape up the minor loss with 1000 grafts if needed. Minoxidil will not give you the hairline you crave, if it would have, it usually happens in a few months.

You're probably allergic to the glycol and should use foam if you must.

so my main issue right now is my diffuse wolf. the wosrt thing is that i am 100% sure that the minoxidil and the pg caused me a huge scalp inflammation causing a diffuse thinning on all my parting. I have been applying it on this area as a preventive measure for 2 years and this was a huge mistake! i should have stick with the dutasteride alone.
But now i am trapped because you can't stop the minoxidil easily

Are you really diffuse though :p Why don't you get off it and see if you do indeed shed? Your hair may not really be dependent on it in the sense it's not like it restored anything anyway. Or maybe now it is. I did warn you before not to start unnecessary treatments unless you truly need them and risking your skin for 5 new hairs which may or may not have even happened.

unfortunately i am really diffusing. that might be because of the inflammation caused by the minoxidil.
I am unluckyn because dutasteride is strictly doing nothing for my diffuse thinning, this is crazy. The most powerful drug...

You stupid stupid mong.

Just use finasteride. If you must microdose on minoxidil oral or buy minoxidil without PG from Minoxidilmax.

This sh*t isn't that f*****g hard.

If duasteride isn't helping you then you're on the road to rekt anyway.
