what exactly is seb derm? I noticed I’m
Shedding hairs with thick globby white bulbs and i can feel these grain like dry sebum balls on my scalp and when I rub these grain it usually comes comes off with a hair attached to it. Is this seb derm? I feel like my hair shedding/slight thinning is due to this condition. Anyone else experiencing this?

How bad is your hair loss to you have Androgenetic Alopecia?
Can't tell for sure. I had an allergy in 2019 which that my hair fall out all the time. It was a nightmare. My density went all down the drain, literally, and I'm still far from recovery since now and then I have dermatitis flare ups. This sh*t makes my scalp burning/itching and the shedding definitely increases.

I've spent a lot of money trying to figure out what I have but they (derms) don't give me a real response, and all of them differed in the diagnosis. The dermatologist (thricologist whatever) who used the camera said I wasn't thinning and it was most likely to be telogen effluvium, but my shedding only decreased now after switching to a anti inflammatory shampoo. The other two were also inconclusive and told me to wait to see if it would get worse, but one of them prescribed me finasteride ''just in case''. Motherfucker prescribed medicine to be bought at his drugstore, and I f*****g didn't.

My itching/tenderness is getting better, and so is the shedding. But it will come back god knows when, I'm sure of it. Baldness doesn't run in my family so I'm trying to be positive. Ever since this incident in 2019, my strands have varied a lot. Some of them thick, some of them thin, but I would never shed them with a length less than 8cm. Sometimes my sparse area seems to be getting better, sometimes it looks worse and sometimes it looks the damn same. My hair has been fooling me all the time. I can attach pictures later as I'm having a lecture right now

These zoomed pictures are from the area that was thinning last year. Somehow I'm having regrowth, but among thick strands there are some lifeless, colorless strands. They are probably 5cm>, not sure if they will fall out eventually. The thricologist said it is normal, but honestly it's hard to believe when I read a lot about miniaturization. I decided to cut my hair shorter in January because I was fed up of the shedding.

My crown looks sparse, but it's been like that since the allergy. I was never able to recover fully, and sometimes I think it's the same. The longer hair made it look fuller, now it looks like a real bald spot

Hi friend, you still have a lot of hair. Lucky aha :)

Which shampoo do you use because I think my scalp has been in poor health for years

It's quite expensive for me, so I won't be able to afford another bottle when this one I'm using ends. What was working more or less was elseve hydra detox, so it will be the next one I'm buying.

I think I was scammed but I bought it anyway... fish oil and biotin. The fish oil I've been taking since september, but I really can't tell if the thick regrowth was a result of it.

@shoegazing You appear to have a full head of hair. Like a woman or even better.
Yeah, for a long time I told myself that. But this thin spot on the top and the thin right side make me unable to think that everything is fine. The massive shedding last year then... I really lost my density. My hairline is fine I guess

Pictures before cutting my hair. It hasn't changed at all, so I'm not worried at the moment.

One can say I'm delusional or that I have BDD, but I'd rather not let my guard down.

@shoegazing I don't blame you for watching it and taking descent pictures every 1 to 3 months to compare, but at this moment you appear to have a full head, juvenile or woman hair line, with awesome density.

Not that you asked, but your skin does look a little bad. It might be a good idea to wash it as often as possible and use Retinol (over the counter) at night, and non oily sunscreen in the day. Retinol is a less strong version of the prescription stuff and takes a little longer to see results. It helps get rid of acne, sun spots, and just over all smooths the complexion and helps skin. How old are you?

(Make sure you do your own research before using it)
I'll be 21 in May. Indeed, my skin is terrible. Got acne all over my body

Kind of looks similar to mine! This was in a span of months from November to December my central part thinned out and was super flakey.

@shoegazing Just wanted to add I was talking about the Retinol cream you can buy at Walmart, or other big market stores. NOT the oral stuff. Apparently from what I've read the cream does not go systemic and only effects the skin. But again, always do your own research.

I have one sun spot on my face and it bugs me. I have been using sun screen for a few years and been trying to keep my sun exposure down for longer than that. I have longer hair and it's always helped block some sun too. This sun spot probably goes back to when I was little and my parents never put sun screen on me. I still look look young for my age (27). People often think I am 5 to 10 years younger, which I am cool with. However, I know this can not last forever. Sooner or later, I'll look 30, then 40, but it will be nice if I look 30 at 40 if you get me.

And if your 21, your skin may clear up some in the next year or so naturally but you can always look into things to help it. And as far as your hair is concerned. I don't believe you actually NEED finasteride but if you can't stop worrying then at the most you could take 0.25mg a day just as insurance to keep it (if it works) and try to ease your mind. But again, I don't think you need it. Typed way more than I meant to.
I appreciate your input. I'll keep comparing pictures to see if anything changes.
