So I've been trying to figure out what to do about my custom system from lavivid. I waited 3 months for it, now it's arrived and the crown area looks very thin to me.

I reached out to some hair system Youtubers to get their opinions. So far only Jake Kent has responded, and a few of the other smaller lesser known YT guys( who were mostly split or didn't really know for sure).

Jake Kent told me that he feels the crown area looks way too thin and it is not normal and I should send it back for replacement.

What do you guys think, is Jake Kent right? Thanks!

Jack Kent is a moron....It's not a clown store wig.... Thats what natural crowns are....less density...

Yes I agree, he does not know much and is a major opportunist, next I feel he will be doing a hair transplant journey on his channel just for money and traction. I do not feel he really has done much research and kind of just says a few things he heard others say. He appears to be doing this all for money and views, like many youtubers they find a topic that is highly searched and they focus their channel around that topic for view and subscribers.
Of course I am no expert myself obviously, mostly have used salon and now beginning to venture out on my own bc I can no longer afford salon price increases and membership fees, I am not a wealthy man unfortunately

He is really the only guy I conversed with who guys on here may have heard of. MG Ford messaged on Instagram after I make this post, he say it is difficult to tell without cut in and fitting, but he did point out to me the knots look like they are not bleached, which the knots are supposed to be bleached. Not a huge deal to me about bleached knots though.

I put my hand under the base to mimmick the scalp a bit, and looks alot better. I think its just the illusion of light shining through that one area and is probably normal as you say.

I thank you for your feedback my friend, puts my mind at ease. I will have it cut in Thursday and should be okay. If not, I will live, just hair :)

Seems like a too thick unit yes and the crown thinness is actually saving it.
Ah I see, thank you sir. Makes me feel better. I asked for a higher density of 130 on this one because it was suggested by a former stylist after my last one was a bit thinner than I'd hoped. Stylist say she can thin it out if too thick, I hope so.
Yeah I think that crown is fine. I prefer mine a little thinner ideally.
Thank you my friend. I'm grateful for your feedback and that comforts me. I feel maybe crown thinner can add realness appearance yes? I hope this one work out for me

The thickness is really a question of your existing back and sides. People suggest that is a dense unit because usually people won't have the thick backs and sides to pull it off.

Secondly you should search images of crowns of men to familiarise yourself with them a little better.

I think the unit is not that bad. Might be a bit thin in the crown area, but I agree that crown area is supposed to the thinner than the rest of the piece.

Yes, I think you are correct about density and researching natural men's crown area. This is good advice I feel.
I go for higher density because 95 too thin in front, and I like maybe shorter cut. We will see.

Yes I thought same but so hard to tell right now. Too many factors. I may be overthinking this and I'm embarrassed to be such a person as that, too much worrying haha.
This is first time I take a system out of bag to examine so it is probably just me being inexperienced.
Lavivid tell me i can still send unit to CA to add more hair, even after cut in so this is good. Not sure about shipping cost, I may be responsible for this. They have been very good and responsive so that is nice.
With flash camera crown looks normal. I Post flash photo and photo of previous unit to compare
