I am 15.5 years old and I have been suffering from retrograde alopecia since age 13 - at first I thought it was a nutritional issue so I checked with the doctor and turns out I had nothing wrong with me. Around January of this year I began dermarolling every week with castor oil however that has given me no regrowth for around 5 months now. Ive recently began to question whether I should use minodoxil or not, preferably in foam form to go hand in hand with my dermarolling regime. However im scared that it might interfere with my developement since it is a chemical afterall, albeit it has no affect on DHT so I dont really know. Im currently looking for a hair dermatologist in my region to see what I can do realistically but im scared that if I dont take action now my retrograde alopecia will progress even more.

Talk to a doctor

It’s bad indeed. The patchy look could be autoimmune. Also it could just stay like this since you’re not receding? it seems.

You’re way too young for finasteride or minoxidil
