Hello everyone. I got a bit of a problem after I changed my minoxidil regimen. About 5,5 months ago I decided to do something with my balding head and went to trichologist. I was close to VA Hamilton-Norwood then. After a couple appointments he said I should start using topical minoxidil and he prescribed Rogain 5% foam. It did an awesome job and in about 4 months I got a lot of my hair back and was somewhat around III on that scale. I guess it worked so well because it wasn’t that long ago that I started seeing first signs of balding (4-5 years). Then, as it goes, I thought of speeding up this process and bought 15% iiSolutions lotion with azelaic acid and started using it alongside with Rogaine so I apply Rogaine foam in the morning and iiSolutions in the evening (I heard for a lot of people it proves really useful). After about a couple of weeks my hair started shedding so I thought it might be because I went up to the higher percentage and that ‘initial’ shedding thing must be occurring to me again so I didn’t worry about it. But it’s already been a month or maybe even a little more and this shedding didn’t stop and that balding spot is again becoming clearly visible. Could it really be that ‘initial’ shedding and there’s nothing to worry about and I should continue this regimen and it’ll all grow back? Or maybe it’s a sync shedding? I thought it might occur somewhere around 4-5 months after the start of minoxidil using. Or maybe I chose the bad timing switching to this regimen and it’s both of those combined? Is this even ok to use these both alongside with each other since they have different components in them? Should I go back to 5% Rogain foam since it was working for me?
