I wanted to share some experience around finasteride and sex.

The reduction in libido is a well documented side-effect of finasteride.

What I have found is a complete loss of libido for a day or two when I STOP taliking finsteride, then return to normal.

When I re-start Finsteride I get a libido boost.

When I changed to a generic brand of finasteride (Finasta) my libido went nuts for weeks and I basically F#$%ed my wife half to death!

Last week, I stopped again for a few days and for the first time in my life could not get and erection AT ALL, even going solo :jackit: !!!

Overall, erections are less spontaeus and the morning wood is more like a morning full hang. MAybe this is just and age thing - I'm 40.

If I had a wife to bang, I'd not worry about my hair and I would just keep on banging her

And... what is your point? You are correct it is well documented that some people will be affected by this but most don't.

I have been on finasteride (propecia) for over 8 years now. And not once have I had an erection problem. At the age of 40, erection problems indicate a poor vascular system.

I would suggest you see a doctor and get some blood tests. This is your safest bet. Next, get off your lazy backside and do some exercise.

Run like forest gump and get that heart pumping!

Everyone is different and reactions to these drugs vary a lot. So yes, it is possible that finasteride may actually increase libido in some men.

I'm 33, I've been taking Proscar 1/4 everyday for almost 14 years and I believe finasteride may be affecting my libido. I'm able to have erections but my sexual appetite is not as intense as it used to be.

Very difficult to get a decent erection for me. Sometimes just ejaculate without it. And the sperm is transparent and watery... I can't believe how much sh*t I got from just 9 pills.

<smirk>, I am actually quite fit, have ABS of steel, well not quite, but no cardiovascular problems. But if you insist, I'll add another 10 minutes to today's gym workout for being such a lazy-arsed slob.

There was a severe stress happening at the time (of my post) I really had a soft patch. Soon after posting here, I read that stress reduces testosterone and increases female type hormones, so you kinda lose your male mojo so to speak.

I have since been able to overcome most of the stress and my sexual appetite is coming back.

No morning wood, though. I used to be able to hang a wet towel on it at 7am.

It is also well documented that as you get older, erection control may change. I was wondering if this could also be just an age thing.

Interesting about what you're saying about the brand. I've started getting side about six months I switched to using fincar. I though it mat be a possibility but the sides were consistent with the studies so I kind of took this as proof that it was genine finasteride. I'm just starting a different brand now so I'll see if that has any effect.

I find it a bit hard to really believe that a few days could have such a dramatic effect on your labido etc. It takes about a week for your androgens to get back to normal and you can dose every other day with almost the same effect. There's alot we don't understand so maybe.

I don't like your attitude.

Just so you know I consider you to be a bit hysterical. But how long have you been off the pills?

7 and a half months off now. I think I just took it too young. This pill isn't for 18-year-olds.

Maybe, but I would have thought 18 would have been ok. 7 months is along time though. It really is hard to understand how so few pills could have such a drastict impact. Maybe it coincided with some other condition or something that has amplified the effect of the sides and is draging the recovery out longer. Still, I'm sure whatever the problem is it will have to eventually fix itself.

No, well that's what I was wondering. Perhaps it is other factors after all.
Finasta isn't saving my hair anyway....
