Sexual side effects from minoxidil

Hey guys,

I'm new here but will get straight to the point. In short, I am one of the few that have suffered sexual side effects from using minoxidil (lipogaine) and for a while now have been looking at other alternatives to stop hairloss. I'm currently using pretty much nothing which will prevent my hairline to recede further apart from a shampoo called Hair Genesis shampoo. As you can guess it barely does anything alone, if anything at all. As finasteride is scientifically proven to slow down hair loss with most men, I'm eager to give it a try. The one big worry is the proven sexual side effects which some men encounter, and due to the fact that I suffered sexual side effects from minoxidil (which from what I've read is very rare) I'm worried that finasteride will cause a similar problem or worse. If any of you can help or can relate in some way then I'd really appreciate some advice.

hey Bernie,

I also suffered the same sides from Lipogaine. I've been on it for a year and I havent taken anything else so I know it has to be from Lipogaine. I cut that out and switched to regular Rogaine foam a few days ago. Hoping to see some improvement, i'll update you.

Cheers for the response. How's the rogaine going? Any improvements? If not, have you thought about getting on finasteride?

I had the same side effects from rogaine foam, its starting to be more common now, i know webmd has sexual side effects listed for minoxidil, so you arent the only one, to add to that im 23 and im in really good shape and also visited a urologist to make sure it wasnt something else and all was fine

what sides are you getting?
Is this only with the foam?
I am still having sides after stopping finasteride a year off but also switched from liquid minoxidil to foam for ease. I wonder if this could be related.
