Hi all,

I am hoping to find something local so I don't have to order online to pay killer shipping costs etc

I was looking at Tricomin but very controversial with some of threads I read on here so thinking it's not worth the $80+ price tag.

Progaine looks affordable but don't think it's available in Canada. I would be paying double the price for shipping.

Any help would be appriciated.

Right now i am using the the products below (nothing to do with hairloss) but thinking I should switch to something that could be helpful

Thanks!

Hey there,

I'm a fellow Canadian I feel your pain. Getting stuff up here is a pain in the ***.

Progaine is great, I used it when I lived in the US, very affordable at the drug stores (around $8) so it's definitely worthwhile to stock up when you find yourself stateside.

Nizoral is your best bet. You can get the 2% up here over the counter, the smaller size is $9 and the larger size is $18. You are supposed to leave Nizoral on for 5 minutes. Just to warn you, it makes your hair look pretty shitty (at least mine, I have curly hair)

Nioxin is also available up here and I liked it.

Torontonian here. If you decide to use nizoral your best bet is to buy it at Wal-Mart where its usually cheaper. You can find nioxin pretty easy here but its expensive stuff.

Thanks everyone for the comments

I actually started using Nizoral when I first came to the site seeing it was recommended as part of the big 3 as I think it was termed as.

I've always had an itchy scalp and found useing Nizoral very helpful in that regards. I am looking for for an everyday shampoo now.

Next time I am in the US definitely gonna stock up on Progaine. Can't go wrong with the price tag.

I'll look around in Canada for that other product Nioxin. Never heard of it but got me curious now.

One of the reps that I keep in contact with (works for a hairtransplant doctor) says he just said to stick to natural products and that he personally uses Dove and L'oreal (he's had his hair worked on) but I am sort of in a depressed state with my hair right now that I feel like just going online and purchase Tricomin.

Maintaining my hair has really become a fckn science lab project. Rogaine, Proscar, Nizoral, Tricomin, Toppik, and now possibly Tricomin because I'm so desperate. No wonder some ppl just get fed up and shave their head

Nizoral is also pretty cheap at Shopper's Drug Mart.

I hear ya dude. With all this stuff, not to mention the hassles of importing standard stuff like Rogaine Extra Strength. Where do you get your toppik by the way? I live in Toronto and I can't find it anywhere. I have to order it online.
