Shed Started After Switching From Rogaine To Kirkland?

I just recently switched from Rogaine Minoxidil to Kirkland. about 2 weeks in I noticed lots of hairs on my hand when I applied it to my hair. When I wash my hair I'm seeing lots of hairs now. If I run my hand through my hair a few times hairs are falling out into the sink. These are things I would always do previous and I would never have any hair fall maybe 1 or 2 stray hairs but now I'm seeing 10-20 or more. Is this normal after switching brands or is something else up?

I made the same switch about a month ago and haven't noticed any difference. Then again if it were a mild shed I wouldnt necessarily notice it. Interested to see forthcoming responses in this thread, if there are any.

I was thinking about upping from 5% rogain 1x a day to 2x a day and I am considering adding Lipogain 1x a day instead since I read on the female site that a woman had excellent results when she did this.

How did you do making switch? any increase in growth or decrease in shedding?

Ya, now a few weeks later, and I think I may have been better off NOT making the switch! Seem to be an increase in shedding... or, it could just be no change, or coincidence. But I decided not to take the chance and I am going to maybe alternate between Kirkland and Rogaine. ? Rogaine is just so much more expensive, like 5x, and they are both 5% liquid. So it must have the same effectiveness, right? But... really I am not sure, I think the Kirkland may be less effective.

That said it sounds to me like you arent considering using less Rogaine, but rather ading lipogain or more rogaine. So you'll probably do well, as youre not planning on using any less Rogaine.

Yes I was going to increase minoxidil to 2x a day so I figured I would try rogain in am and Lipogain in PM it has a lot of other things in it so figured why not.

I also use minoxidil only once a day by the way. Am also considering using it 2x, for sure it would be at least a little more effective. But... now I use at night, its the easiest thing in the world. Morning... I dunno. I like not having it in my hair all day. I also dont know if I would stick with it, and after using in the morn for a while and then stopping, or maybe being inconsistent with it, maybe that would cause a shed?

It's a bit of a conundrum. :D

Last night i doubled the amount I usually use to see how I felt (normal) I do have low normal blood pressure 110/70 usually in that range..sometimes 100/80.
BUT I am also not petite I am 5'6 average weight to height normal range so I would think the dosage should be more about persons size vs gender.

But do you think its better to increase dose amount OR do it 2x a day instead smaller amounts?

i may make a thread asking opinions on this.

i got the sensitive mens formula liopgain because the womens did not have these additional things
A proprietary herb blend of DHT blocker such as Azetinol, saw palmetto extract, beta-sitosterol, oleic acid, linolenic acid that inhibit 5-reductase (both alpha and beta).

lincal Proven growth stimulator (5% Minoxidil) with Biotinyl-tripeptide, Niacin, apple polyphenol to stimulate hair growth.

I also purchased the castor oil shampoo they have.

According to Dr. B, once a day is "almost as effective" as twice a day. He makes reference to it on several of his pages... read the last 3 paragraphs here:
https://www.bernsteinmedical.com/hair-transplant-video/which-is-better-rogaine-foam-or-liquid/

I use about 5 mg once a day. I'd imagine that it's a little less effective than 2.5mg twice a day. Maybe only a little though... I think I'll end up increasing the dose, making it around 1/2 Rogaine and 1/2 Kirkland, and still doing it once a day.

For whatever its worth I dont think anyone commenting here can really answer your question. Dr. B, your doctor, and a few other people could... maybe. But here its just wild speculation.
