I got new clippers and I noticed they cut my hair a lot closer to the skin compared to my old clippers I replaced despite using a "#1" blade on both. 2 weeks ago I used my new clippers to buzz my head with the #1 blade and noticed by hair to be less dense as it was growing out. The hairs themselves are thick just less of them.

I noticed when I touch the top of my head and the areas that I seem to be concerned about, I can feel many small prickly hairs. I don't have much hair falling out but many hairs that seem like they are not growing. I was wondering if this is a normal hair cycle or just another sign of male pattern baldness progressing such as more hair being in the "resting" phase vs growth phase.

Interesting to note is perhaps this why minoxidil seems to work so well on men who are in the beginning stages of hair loss as the hairs are still their just not growing.
