Shedding from Rogaine

I plan on starting rogaine soon and I was wondering how bad the shedding from it is. Should start it now while in school or if I should wait to start using it.

I'm 17 and I the hair on the top of my head has been thinning.

But how bad is the shedding from minoxidil, should I wait until the summer or will it be okay during the school year?
