Hey all,

I've just bought my very first Regaine 5% and I'm going to do it tonight in hoping will at least getting some growth. I would have to admit that I'm chicken enough to try finasteride as of now after knowing of all the sides but maybe later.

Well it all started when I was 18 and currently I'm 27. I've tried several remedies but all failed. I did take 1/4 Proscar for almost 1 year but doesn't really seems any result, maybe it was but I doesn't really track the improvement monthly.

Until recently I noticed my hair loss became even more aggresive and it freak me out! So I started on my own research on reviews and clinical papers. After spending one week reading the forum, I found that shedding is the initial stage of using minoxidil. I was just wondering how long does the shedding last and how bad will it be during the shedding stage.

Stress just accelerates you hair loss. Have you ever thought of just shaving all your hair? If not, try the above.

Minoxidil 5% must be applied to the hair, morning and night. The stuff is a pain in the backside to apply and if you liquid foam, will irritate your skin after a while. However, it does work somehow. It will take as much as 9 months to actually see any hair growth. Even after 9 months, no growth occurs, it may have maintained your existing hair. Like many specialist state, they consider this stuff as snake oil. Once you are on it, you are stuck with it throughout life, if you want to maintain hair.

Anyway, some people swear that you see shedding whilst applying this - first time. I don't. However, you will still see your normal hair loss cycle and growth cycle.

If you are going to jump back on to the finasteride bandwagon! I suggest you to use propecia (merck) only! Even proscar is a pain in the backside to cut open.

Good luck.

Hey Teddy,

Thanks for your enlightenment. Besides, I wanted to congrat you for your success!! I've seen your blog before but just never really wish you :)

Yeah I know that once you're on minoxidil or finasteride, means you're on forever unless you don't mind to get back the pre-treatment condition. I've put a very deep thought on this and now I've decided to join the ship. I strongly agree with you that, we should actually go for patented drugs because of it's efficacy and molecular affinity, but no doubts there are some genetics which giving the same result.

I hope you don't mind my 2cents opinion, as for your case, I just think you don't really need finasteride. I believe you're pretty sure of all the sides, the hormones, infertility and stuff... but if those doesn't bother you, then you just go ahead towards your crowning glory!!

Best of luck to you!!
