Shedding...

I know that it has been documented that shedding of 50-100 (and more if you shampoo) is potentially "normal," so why do people continue to feel that they are losing hair with sheds of 40-50 a day? I have read the article frequently linked (on this site) regarding shedding, & yet it appears that most people consider anything over 20 hairs a day "shedding."

My worst shedding occurs in the morning when I look at the pillow and see about 15-20 hairs....15-20 more in shower/styiling and then during the rest of the day hair loss is minimal (<20).

It is hard to gauge whether this is a problem or not.

the problem is when they don't grow back as thick as they were before. thus, you begin to see your scalp.
