My hair is thin and that's why I bought this topical product, to produce thicker hair. After using the product as directed for a few days I noticed an increase in shedding. Especially when I have it on my head it seems.

I contacted Shen Min and spoke to someone who really didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about but after he put me on hold for a minute told me when dht unbinds from the follicle the hair falls out. I asked him if the shedding was normal and he told me yes. Honestly his answer didn't really do it for me.

Based on the ingredients can some one tell me if this is normal?

INGREDIENTS: Water, Steareth-20, Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) (seed), Herbal Blend Hair Complex (a proprietary extract blend of Burdock (Arctium lappa) (root), Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) (flower), Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) (root), Henna (Lawsonia inermis) (flower, fruit, leaf), Honey, Horsetail (Equisetum arvense), Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) (leaf), Cinquefoil (Potentilla erecta) (root)), Polysorbate 20, PEG-40 Stearate, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aminomethyl Propanol, Citric Acid, Lysine Carboxymethyl Cysteinate, Alcohol, Phospholipids, Cholesterol, Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), Butylene Glycol, Saw Palmetto Extract (Serenoa repens) (fruit), Lysine Thiazolidine Carboxylate, Biotin, Niacin, Panthenol, Eucalyptus Extract (Eucalyptus globulus) (leaf), Tetrapeptide-1, Quillaja Extract (Quillaja saponaria) (bark), He Shou Wu Extract (Fo-ti) (Polygonum multiflorum), Keratin, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Chamomile Extract (Matricaria recutita) (flower), Potassium Sorbate.
I know rogaine sometimes causes shedding in the beginning but I'm not sure if it's normal with this product.

I would like to continue using it but I'm scared.

By the way I'm not using anything else.

hi I have no idea what this 'Shen Min' product is but you'd better check the ingredients with a specialist (whether ot not the ingredients in it are harmful in general). Is this a proven hair growth product? If you are serious about hair loss, please check out Minoxidil and Propecia.

It's not worth going to see a specialist for this product that's why I'm asking online. It's cheaper to just stop using it. And by the way I'm using it for thicker hair. I want to increase the size of my hair follicles to produce thicker hair as opposed to a shampoo that just thickens the hair itself.

I would like to continue using it if that's what it will do but I got a little scared from the shedding. I'm hoping someone with a lot of experiance with products of this sort can tell me if it's a normal thing.

Just found out that saw palmetto can cause shedding. It's one of the ingredients.

I did a little googling and found that a lot of people stop using saw palmetto because of that, while others seem to benifit from it.

Will the shedding stop? Some people stuck with saw palmetto for severel months and shedding didn't stop.

I guess my main question is does the statement that the guy at Shen Min make any sense? Does hair fall out when DHT is released form the hair follicle? can't find anything online that confirms this.

Like I said I would like to use the topical for thicker hair but not if it will cause my hair to shed.
