Shorter hair looks better when balding?

That's what lots say on here. DOesn't it matter what style of hair you have though? My hair is curly and people tell me that i look less bald when it's long. I think that people who are balding with straight hair look better buzzed.

What do you guys think?

I think with long curly hair it can curl over the balding areas if they're minor, but if you have short curly hair they're more noticeable.

I think that for people with minor balding and recession that long hair is better, and that for people with major balding and recession that short hair is better.

Your thoughts appreciated

For me, at least, my hair looks better when it's longer. It's also curly, though its not very curly when it's short. However if i leave it for too long the non balding areas grow faster than the others, and it looks bad, so you need to have it cut regularly i guess (i'm going to cut mine soon...)

However i certainly think the shorter hair makes me look less bald, almost can't notice it. However i lose my curly locks, so therefore i look worse, and people always tell me to grow it out again (they don't know i'm losing my hair)

I buzz my head to 1/4 inch every week and it looks much better than long hair. Also you get less frustrated because you can't style your hair.

I have to say short hair is better, when i had mine long i'd spend AGES trying to make it look good, getting sooo frustrated and stressed out, only to know that if it was toutched by wind or rain then it was going to make all my effort completely pointless.

Short hair is much better, it looks thicker and it's sooo much less hassle!

my receding hairlines definitrly less noticeable if the hair at the front is shorter, helps to comb it to the side a little as well

I'm debating this issue as well. My hair thinning has been occuring in the back, so I'm kind of undecided which route to go.

It looks better when short because it shows more scalp in the thick areas so it reduces the contrast between hair thickness. The naturally thin areas don't look as thin....

you can also tell when someone is covering bald/thin areas when their hair is long either by the way they comb it or how their hair is sitting. thin hair sits flat and looks lifeless compared to the rest.

short hair is a lot easier to maintain and you don't have to worry about the way your hair looks so much.

I have a little balding in the front. I find a crewcut look with some bangs left works great. Much better than long or even medium. You just dont notice the fading areas if everywhere is short. Oh, I work in an office with lots of women, a lot of them like their men with really short hair.

I just grow the top a little longer and leave the sides and back short. I tried to grow it long a year ago, but it didn't look good because that's when I noticed thinning.

My hair is naturally curly and does look better with it a bit longer. It does in fact hide the thinning spots on the crown and front of my head. If it weren't for these great curly locks, then, I would be noticeably bald.

I would have to agree that it looks better short because I used to have my hair quite long and people would always notice that I was thinning at the front. Also, because my hair is quite thick in other areas the front part of my head would show even more if I grow it long!

My advice is keep it short - the good thing is that most women prefer a man with a short haircut!

hey, im interested in that too. that kerasome which i use doesnt look that good and my hair is getting better so i consider getting it shorter. my only concern is that my temples are exposed then. and you could see my thinning even more. :/
