Should I add foam?

I'm 30, been losing since 18, and it started to get quite noticeable in my early 20s. Since 25, the thinning at the crown and on top has really picked up.

I started finpecia (1mg daily) two weeks ago, as well as nizoral 2% every few days. No sides at all so far. I'd be perfectly happy to keep this up, since popping a pill and washing my hair is simple. But I'd like some regrowth. Not worried about the hairline and temples. Just want thickness on the top, front and crown.

So should I stick with what I'm doing for a bit and wait, or add the foam right away? My main concerns are the pain in the *** from putting it in 2x daily forever, being able to hide it from people, and, because of that, the smell. But more hair would be good. Advice?

And what Norwood am I (here's the back with flash)?

If I were you I would definately get using the foam. It would appear that you are a diffuse thinner but it is hard to say. Is your frontal hairline still in tact or is it receeded and you just comb your hair forward? Either way, get on the foam for maximum results.

Yes you should definitly.

And foam is not a pain in the *** at all. Will take you 2 minutes on the morning, 2 minutes on the evening.
And you can allow yourself to miss applications from time to time.

Give it a shot, if after 4-6 months you don't see any results, you can consider to give it up.

Good luck bro

Actually there isn't much left in the front, but foam could still do something, right? Thanks for the advice, dudes.

If I respond well, how much? Enough hair to warrant stocking up on bottles of chemicals and rubbing foam into my skull twice a day? I'm not looking for a helmet. More like enough that my scalp doesn't beam through under these few wispy hangers on. I just want what I had a few short years ago when I told myself "I'm losing my hair and that would be fine and cool... if it would just stop here."

well some people respond really well...some just maintain...and some just grow A LITTLE back...give it a shot and see what happens, nothing to lose right?

I would say that your best hope is to order a load of Dutasteride and start taking that after you've finished with your stash of Propecia... AND use the foam. And add some Nizoral.

I'll be honest with you my man, I think you ought to go for the strongest treatments straight away.

blackhole, you're late for finasteride or minoxidil. only to try to maintain what's left already. you should transplant. I wonder why you started your tratment soo late, since you're saying you've been balding since 18.

Well I wish I has started with finasteride 5 years ago. If I could have maintained what I had then, I would have been perfectly happy. For now, Dutasteride seems too risky and, well, I just don't have 10k to blow on a hair transplant. I think I'll stick with finasteride + nizoral and keep thinking about foam. All I'm trying to figure out is if the chore of putting it on twice daily is worth what will most likely be a small amount of regrowth.
