Hello. (22 and a half, male)

Back in February I decided to start to use minoxidil, but to apply it on beard and not head, in hope I will grow a beard before i have to shave my head.

I had massive shedding (from head, all parts) on first month, but after that the hair barely fall anymore, I used to pick a hand full of hair from shower, now it's the normal amount of hairs, < 30 hairs, just few.

But after 2-3 months I saw that hair in my head is growing too, so back few days I decided to use on my scalp too, but now it kinda looks like the new hair is falling too. Before I started to apply, the hair was weak and could be removed just by rubbing my finger on the scalp.

Was it a good decision that i started to apply on scalp too? BTW on scalp i apply just a bit, like 1/3 of 1 mg, the rest goes on beard.

Here are some photos of my 'progress'

Does it look better? worst? did the hair fall out for good this time or will come back?

Nobody has an opinion?

Here is the straight question: Do i need to apply minoxidil on scalp to make the hair grow, or I can apply it only on beard and it will work for scalp too?

At your young age the best drug to be on is finasteride for saving your hair. Minoxidil puts all of your follicles into the growth cycle but it does not prevent them from being ruined by DHT in your system.

It's also strange you would be applying minoxidil before shaving your head. But to answer your question the only place minoxidil works is where it is applied.
