Hi guys,

I'm a 26 yo male, I have had this hair thinning area on my crown, with a lot of visible scalp for more than 6 years, with a very mild evolution. Actually I noticed about it first at high school. 5 years ago it was already very noticiable, but it have worsen gradually in the last two years. In the forehead, also the hairline might be thinning a little, but not noticiable as my crown.

A friend recommended Minoxidil 5%.

Some opinions?

Thanks!

I'm sorry to say it will probably get worse pretty fast, stress can be a big accelerator so try to cut down on that. Maybe try a topical finasteride and minoxidil routine to begin with as well as dermarolling. What's important now is to keep what you have as it gets thinner it will be more difficult to get back to what it was. Though get lots of advice and do research before going on meds as there are side effects and also if you are considering having kids finasteride will affect the fetus.

You seem to have a great head of hair and only some thinning in the crown, unless you're covering your hairline recession. Do you know what's your family hairloss? You could get on finasteride for prevention, and even a quarter every other day would help you. There's also the topical solution if you're too worried about potential side effects.
@hudsonhawke From what I know, there hasn't been any reported case related to that issue. You can always search up studies or reputable youtube hair loss channels. It's worth noting that many doctors advise to take a break from it while fathering a child, like the guys at The Hair Loss Show.

You can also use toppik in the mean time if it bothers you too much when going out.
