Should I continue?

I was almost in tears last night as I looked at my pictures.
I am 23, and have been slowing but surely losing hair for about 2 years now.
Luckily for my sanity, it has not been copious amounts at once,
but more gradual. I've been using rogaine foam for about 6 months
quite religiously, and I can honestly say that I think it has done more harm than good.

Attached is a pic of my last as of last night.
The top is thinning and looks completely horrible, while the sides are REALLY thick.
I regret starting the foam, and would have rather took my chances with genetics, of which by the way, male pattern baldness is a part of.

With the collective wisdom of the people...what should I do?
Institute a new regimen, stop completely, or continue doing it how I'm doing (holding on to hope along the way!)?

Thank you all in advance and I hope that this is just a minor setback with tons of regrowth on its way!!!
I intentionally left the pic slightly larger so everyone could see the thinning along the temple and throughout.

ahhh we've all been at "that" point. I remember when I looked at the photos of my hair for the first time ... euuugh.

Judging by your pics, rogaine alone isn't going to be enough. You need to get on a DHT inhibitor i.e. finasteride. Combine that with Rogaine foam and Nizoral.

Using the foam twice a day?

Oh, and get the sides of your hair cut to remove the contrast !

Good luck :)

Last night was my "uggghhh (*&#@(*&#$" expletive night.

My hair grows weird and I've received compliments when getting it cut on how thick it is...maybe the hairdresser was being nice? Sigh.

This might be bad, but where can I get a good, non knockoff version of finasteride? I just graduated college and neglected to
enroll in my employer's insurance (how's that for being smart, ha!),
so I cannot, unfortunately, get a traditional prescription via a
doctor due to costs. I'm always skeptical as to buying "prescriptions" from the internet

I have Fincar I bought a few months back, and I am reluctant to start over because of some of the reviews I've read about it. Grrr!

Can I buy Nizoral at Wal Mart or somewhere like it? I've looked before but completely forgot if I saw it or not!

And yes, I use to foam twice daily.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

couldn't advise where you should buy finasteride, as I take it you're in the States? I'm in the UK :)

Here's the best piece of advice I can give you about finasteride: don't worry about side effects until you get them :)

I'm on the "Big 3" and I haven't had anything bad at all. Not even any shedding !

Nizoral is an anti-dandruff shampoo so you can buy it at most stores/chemists. It's cheap and easy, worth adding.

Your hair looks just like mine, except i lost more of the front, you thinned an inch further back than me.

Take the fincar for now, till you get your other meds. Pay $49 at http://www.medicalwellnesscenters.com for a precription. Take that to your walmart, and get Proscar, and cut it in 4ths. Cheap, and dependable. You can finish off the Fincar while you start your proscar 4ths. Might give you a slight jump start. Or save the fincar for later incase you have delays in your prescription.

get nizoral 1% on amazon.com. Cheapest place on the net. Get free shipping if you buy 4.

Many say fincar is as good as proscar, so why should he worry about switching if he may be getting it cheaper? finasteride is finasteride, no? That's what I've read around here.

That is what I am wondering. I've seen a few posts (they escape me where at) the Fincar, by Cipla is sketchy. As it stands, I have 5 pills for approx 20 doses (in 4ths).

I originally stopped taking it because I freaked myself over the side effects (low and behold my hair is still MIA...sigh) and I wanted to donate blood and had to stop finasteride for a month in order to do so. I never donated, so I feel like a twit for stopping.

I'll hit the store tomorrow and pick up Nizoral, and i'll introduce the finasteride again.

Wish me luck!!!! (I need it)

I am kinda freaked now...I went to United Pharmacies (where I got Fincar) and this came up:

"You've been hacked by jipank with love liadiana
THANKS TO:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

mabrur, nadia, uun and all tki in saudi arabia
note: uun and nadia semoga cintanya bersatu
special: dika"

wtf? And on the link chemistrystudent gave, I couldnt
find a solid place to get a 'prescription.'
Is there any other way to get finasteride without fearing for getting screwed!?! The SSL certificate is valid on the site,
so should I trust that while ignoring the wonderful 'welcome' page? Ha.
