Should I Increase Finasteride Does?

I've been taking Propecia for about 10 days. I started with .2 mg for 5 days. Did not notice any side effects. Decided to bump up to .25 mg and have been doing that for 5 days now ... once again with no noticeable side effects. Should I bump it up further to .5 mg? Or should I be happy that I'm not getting sides at .25 mg and just stick at this dose?

I know there was a study that showed that the DHT-lowering effect of .2 mg is very nearly as good as 1 mg, but it's not clear to me if the relationship between the percentage of DHT lowering and the actual efficacy of the drug is linear. Furthermore it's not clear to me if the risk or likelihood of side effects is linearly related with the dose. Either way, I certainly don't want sides and like the idea of taking the least amount of the med as possible, but I also want the drug to be effective ... I'm stuck not really knowing what the logical course of action is here. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Stick to 1mg/d. I was SUPER afraid before I started, but it didn't give me any major or lasting sides. My nips hurt for the first week and that was it. The fearmongers don't even take finasteride for the most part.

0.25 , 0.5 , 1 and 5 mg do produce pretty similar results with repeated use

@Btg just curious what source you're using for that statement ... is it from personal experience? A big part of me would really like to just stick at .25 for a few months and see what happens, but my hair is starting to fall out faster and faster and it's freaking me out. There were like 150 hairs on my pillow this morning :(

the dht inhibition graphs support that anything above 0.05 mg used daily will eventually inhibit ~ 60 - 70 % of your dht production
I do not however know the effects on neurosteroid production , but i am pretty sure it is the same thing , since all finasteride does is "inactivate" enzymes , i do not see how dht and neurosteroids get affected differently since they both need to interact with these enzymes
