Hello,
I’m looking for feedback on starting finasteride/min or not. I purchased a compound of finasteride/min but I’m not sure if this is the right route?

I’ve been experiencing shedding and hair fall since about 27 years old. Some noticeable thinning in the front part area. Some noticeable recession on the left temple. I actually feel like after taking these photos it doesn’t look as bad as I thought - these are under pretty serious light and on a freshly wet head so should be pretty exposed.

The other “symptom” I have is itching and constant tingling - I don’t know if that’s balding related, or something completely different.

I do take lots of supplements to help but figured it doesn’t do much. But it can’t hurt.

guess my question is
Go on finasteride and min
Go on finasteride and dermroll
Just sit and wait/monitor.

Would appreciate feed back before I make a commitment in any way here.

It does look like you're thinning so treatment isn't a bad idea. It's only gonna get worse if you leave it and you're likely gonna end up regretting not stopping the loss earlier.

Would you suggest finasteride/min or just min?

Min doesn't block DHT which is the cause of hair loss so finasteride is the most effective since it does. Min alone only works for a few years and is also really inconvenient to apply every day.

I cannot see any noticeable hairloss/recession but then again there are no “before” pics to compare to.

Have you seen a dermatologist about the itching/tingling?

I think you should just continue to monitor your hair. Take good photos (same exact lighting, camera angle, hair length, styling, etc) and compare every 4-6 months.

If you have scalp issues I would not hesitate to use ketoconazole shampoo.

Your hair looks a little diffuse, but there are some people who have naturally fine hair and/or low density. Do you have older pics to compare to?

I would also mention that the scalp tingling coincided with my realization of male pattern baldness. And you should also consider the fact that most men will eventually experience some degree of male pattern baldness. So finasteride is something that can prevent future loss. However, you must stay committed to it long term or you risk potentially losing even more hair if you decide to stop.

Yeah get on finasteride. Your thinning could be reversed. There is no point in waiting till you lose more hare if you already know you want to keep everything.

Perfect time to start. I regret not having started earlier. Just don't let it get worse, once you start losing your hair, you won't recover all your hair.

Just think that you could die any minute and you wont live forever that helps me cope. Life is short and nothing lasts forever, we all get more wrinkly and uglier as the years pass. Hair will barely matter by then.

Bro that is such a pessimistic mindset... I really think there will be something that will solve our hair loss in the near future. About wrinkles.. It couldn't be easier, just tretinoin and you are good to go (and a healthy life style of course).

I'm 22. In fact you can stop wrinkles till you are like 60+ years old... You maintain with tretinoin and when it stops to work, you can always do a facelift in your 50s.

You Will Still look old at that age no matter what you do.
Yeah old but with no wrinkles and hopefully with hair if something good comes out. Isn't it better than bald and wrinkled?

You are legit the most depressive dude i've ever interacted with. God damn.

FYI, we do not all get uglier. We can age gracefully. Especially men do. If you're a good 40 year old Guy you can easily get 25-30 year old hot girls.

Life is what you make of it.

Thanks for all the feedback.
mdads hair is mildly recessed but he’s 61 and in terrible health (hair took a dive after a stroke and a lot of medication)
Uncles both doing ok.

my hair in my 20s was movie star good tbh. Juvenile hair line, couldn’t ask for anything more at say 25.

im 34 now. For my age hair isn’t bad at all, I can live with it but don’t want to be “noticeably balding” by 40.
