I was on generic finasteride for 1 month. From the first week itself I started feeling sides that is described as brain fog by the hairloss community.
My experience with brain fog was that my brain felt totally shunned (reduction in cognitive abilities). But since O was desperate to save my hair I kept ignoring it because of the nocebo theory. I was also getting anxiety and lower libido which I am not sure if they were direct sides of finasteride or an outcome of brain fog itself.
Now I am 2 months off finasteride and feeling a lot better. Although I still have some healing to do.
Now my question is should I reconsider finasteride once I feel 100% okay?
I went on the radio show the bald truth which recommended a regime to start with 1 mg/week for one month and then graduate onto 2 mg/week (I.e. a pill Monday and Thursday) and stay there.
Is it wise to reconsider it again since I am taking so much time to recover after dosage of only a month?
