I have been on rogaine foam for about 3 years now. But for the last 4-5 months I switched to lipogaine for my hairline area because of all the extra DHT blocker hype. I still use rogaine foam on the crown and my crown has remained the same since I started using it and it filled up a little. Once it filled up a little it never went back or changed. So I guess it is working there.
But my hairline has been shrinking faster as of lately and I'm wondering if it's because I switched to lipogaine or if it's just coincidence that now I'm nearing 40?
One reason I like lipogaine is that it doesn't dry the hair as much. I have thick and shot hair so it's hard not to get it on the hair and hard to wash it after without also washing the scalp. So I just leave it. But rogaine foam has lots of alcohol and dries the hair a lot. My front hair looked fried when I used to use rogaine foam there.
Anyways, do you think I should switch back to rogaine foam for my hairline? It definetely helped when i first started using it. Or is it possible that my hairline loss just entered a turbo-boost phase now and it's just normal? It definitely doesn't seem like lipogaine is holding any hairs back from falling. I have also started using nizoral, but I hear mixed reports and some say anti dandruff shampoo makes hair fall actually.
Thanks for the replies.

Or is it maybe that the minoxidil is losing the effect because I've been using it for a long time?
By the way I was using the S5 cream but I stopped because I had the impression it wasn't helping and I heard it doesn't realy do much and was just hype. Maybe this is why my hairline hairloss accelerated? Because S5 was maybe working and now that i dropped it I'm losing my hair faster? Is it worth it going back to S5 cream? If it was indeed helping, would it regrow what i lost in the mean time or just slow down my current loss?
Any other DHT inhibitors that work, specially topical? I have heard of DHT inhibitor shampoos. Are they bogus? I do not want to use propecia.
I'm going nuts here trying to figure this. So frustrating.
