Hello,

I am in my mid twenties and I have been experiencing hair loss for a few years now and I was wondering if it would be safe to take Finastride (Propecia). I am concerned about the possible side effects because I don't want to ruin my life but also losing more hair is very concerning to me and I think about it all the time. If someone would be able to give me some tips that would be great.

Shave your head and look to your self in the mirror, then you can decide whether you take it or not.
I have done that but not too thrilled. I probably don't look bad but I really enjoy my hair and I've been upset with losing it. I also don't want to do anything that will hurt my body so it's a tough situation.

I've been on Finasteride for over a year now. The only side effects I experienced, which were mild I would say, occurred in the first month or month and a half of taking it. If you get on it and give your body the chance to get used to it (if it even has to), you won't regret it. I only regret not getting on finasteride sooner. Good luck to you. And if you live in the US near a Walmart, get it there. It's like $9 for 4 months worth. That's what I do. Great deal.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. What kind of side effects did you have in the beginning?

Side effects can be non existent, or disastrous. It's a risk and you gotta weigh the odds. Most people are fine. But a small percentage of men this drug destroys.

Right so have you ever tried it?

Side effects were just some minor testicular aching (just barely noticeable) and erectile dysfunction (for a few weeks and then back to normal).

You can get it at Walmart? Does a doctor have to write a prescription for you? I'm thinking about trying it too. I asked my doctor a few years back but he wouldn't give me it.

Find a different doctor to prescribe it. It's so worth it and sometimes it's just a matter of finding one that'll let you try it. But yes, you need a prescription. If you can get a prescription and they ask for a pharmacy, just tell them Walmart and go there. It'll be $9 for 30 5mg tablets. Let your doctor know that you intend to break these 5mg tablets into quarters (get a pill splitter if you don't have one) and take 1.25mg per day. That's $9 for roughly a four-month supply. It's the best deal out there.

The drugs are sold under the brand names Propecia, Proscar and Avodart and are known generically as finasteride and dutasteride. One dose treats the effects that can trouble men as they grow older and the prostate enlarges, from trouble urinating to discomfort. A lower dose can be used to stop hair loss. Here is a reliable service http://rxpromocodes.com/ that offers really high quality pills at competitive prices.

There is always the possibility of Finasteride not doing anything for you so it's not like you are deciding between taking a miracle pill but with consequences and not taking it.
