Sides with finasteride, but no side effects with dutasteride? Any reports?

I have heard several users mention that they have heard reports that some people have reported no side effects with Dutasteride that did have side effects on Finasteride. I recently had a little discussion with DecadeTwo on another hair loss forum and he noted that in the studies of both medicines, the side effects on dutasteride were actually lower than on finasteride. (I forget the doses we were looking at).

Anyway, I have always heard that some people have had no sides on dutasteride but did have sides on finasteride, however I haven't really read any of these anecdotal reports for myself.

If anyone has heard of this or experienced yourself, please let me know. I'm considering testing this out myself.


(For the record, I understand that finasteride and dutasteride both inhibit DHT, and that for most people the side effects on dutasteride will be the same as on finasteride, I am just exploring a possibility here).

That's ridiculous I've been on both finasteride and dutasteride. I had to switch from finasteride because of the sides. I've been on dutasteride for a few months and so far no sides. They work in different ways.

I already explained that inhibiting DHT should usually cause the same side effects in both medications, however, there was a discrepency in the studies showing that men on Dutasteride actually experienced less side effects (as a percentage) than those on finasteride. This gives us a legitimate reason to think that with some people, a small minority, that dutasteride might actually work and cause no side effects while finasteride does cause side effects.

So you experienced side effects on finasteride, but not on dutasteride?

What dutasteride brand are you using? (is it a generic from an online site? If so, which?)

What type of side effects were you getting on finasteride?

And, lastly, have you seen any improvement in your hair on either or both medications?

and minoxidil
