significance of widow's peak?

Why the heck do some people got em? I remember once i was at a diner table, and some girl was talking about how my friend has a receded hairline. She said "oh hey man, looks like you're hairs just going clean off" Then she looked at me and my other friend and said "see if you guys go bald, you won't lose all of it, because you have widow's peaks". Now, what she said is completely ridiculous *but* I have noticed that lots of guys who do go bald "island pattern" (i.e. temples recede and area behind hairline dissolves, creating an island in the front of hair) tend to have widows peaks.

Just a random observation, kinda like not many bums being bald, but still something i'm curious about.

Yeah, I had a widow's peak in HS, and before I started treatment, the island was forming pretty noticeably. Just commenting.

Most people I see that have widows peak dont go bald. Look at some pics of Colin Farrell he has a widows peak, and amazing hair that gets him laid 3 times a day by different gals.

I have a widows peak.

I'm balding.

It's just genetics.

Incorrect... actually Collin Farrell only averages 2.347 lays per day. If he didn't have the widows peak, he might get it up above 2.5?

I too have a widows peak, had it for a long time, and I'm now thinning/balding on top. Over the years, it has evolved from a widows peak, to a Mexico-shaped pattern, and now down to a thin Isthimus of Panama-looking thing. People used to say I look like Kevin Costner, but that's changed. When a coworker compared me to Phil Collins, I went to the store that same day and picked up my first serving of minoxidil.

And by the way, none of this has affected my ability to get laid. I'm not up at Collin Farrell levels, but by stats have not diminished. Just the quality of the company, hehe. Kidding.

Widow peak is determined by genetics. It's the same kind of thing that determines whether your earlobes are attached. I'm balding I have one.

Mendel for those who know dominant and recessive genes.

I hear ya on that, I have no prob getting laid what so ever. I got a little 20 year old girlfriend now, cute as a wip and i am 27 years of age. Although i wouldnt mind the 2.5 laid average a day by different hot broads. I think im going to get a hair transplant to fill in my receded hairline and tell the Doctor to throw in a widows peak. How many people you know have done that with a hair transplant? Maybe it will trick people into thinking i didnt work done then.
