I was on dutasteride for two years; and its been six months since I took my last dutasteride. On thursday I just paid a plastic surgeon 5,265 dollars to remove the breast tissue I grew. I have been physically unable to have sex for over a year. I cannont not under any cirmustances whatsoever acheive even a "mild" erection. I'm 25. I feel like a 5 year old boy. My life has for the most part been ruined by dutasteride use. Be careful...my permenent sides didn't show up until about the thirteenth month. Just telling my story is all. And....Im going bald again....

Guys, this should be a lesson to those of you who are throwing down crap like it's candy. There's a real danger in self-medicating...particularly with things that are not intended for your use. A lot of drugs can be harmful down the road. All you guys taking dutasteride and oral spironolactone should heed this gentleman's warnings.

You should also take this simple suggestion - GO TO YOUR DOCTOR to discuss your course of treatment.

Ugh, I'm very sorry for your experience. I'm glad you've decided to share it with the forum - perhaps your words will influence someone towards the positive side.

Obvioulsy, not everyone will experience the same sides I did, but the risk of completely ruining your life is a possiblity. If I only knew what I knew now... :(

I am very sorry to hear your story. Anyway, the odds are that nature will take its course again to heal what dutasteride has damaged.
I have one question though. You say that you took dutasteride for 2 years and started to experience strong side effects after 13 months into treatment. Why did you go on taking dutasteride nearly a year after that ?

wow man. sorry to hear that.
so far i havent gotten any sides from finasteride..

aside from watery semen and slightly puffy nipples.

this is why you should absolutly should not be doing anything that isnt approved by the FDA.

but listen man... although your losing your hair again, at least your breast tissue has been removed.

if i were you.. i would have gotten off dutasteride a lot sooner if you havent been able to have an erection for THAT long! couple weeks maybe.. but a whole YEAR!?

you need to go to the doctor to get professional medical advise. they could possibly do some sort of hormone therapy or something.

anyway, im really sorry to hear your situation.. god bless...
