Anti-aging small molecule PAPD5 inhibitor.
There's no real link with hair loss. But anti-aging always seems good and, who knows, might also help against hair loss.
Especially the small molecule thing is a plus for topical application.
Maybe a local effect might be possible this way.

Central to a lot of scientific research into aging are tiny caps on the ends of our chromosomes called telomeres. These protective sequences of DNA grow a little shorter each time a cell divides, but by intervening in this process, researchers hope to one day regulate the process of aging and the ill health effects it can bring. A Harvard team is now offering an exciting pathway forward, discovering a set of small molecules capable of restoring telomere length in mice.

Here, we describe small-molecule PAPD5 inhibitors that demonstrate telomere restoration in vitro, in stem cell models, and in vivo. PAPD5 is a non-canonical polymerase that oligoadenylates and destabilizes telomerase RNA component (TERC). We identified BCH001, a specific PAPD5 inhibitor that restored telomerase activity and telomere length in DC patient induced pluripotent stem cells.

Thats excellent news, you'll still be baldy uggy though, mr clean.
At least we may live long enough to see a cure

Edit: Telomerase lengthening will not make you live longer, it has been done on genetically modified mice and their lifespan didn't impouve that much.

If you could live forever would you really care about being bald for 20 years of it?

Picture living as a 50 year old NW7, then becoming a 20 yo NW1 again. WTF.

At least if you look young you can go for someone your age who was once out of your league

You seem indeed to be right...

Replicative senescence following extensive passage in culture is usually associated with progressive telomere shortening and involves the activation of p53 and p21Cip1 (Dulic et al., 2000; Itahana et al., 2001). Whereas senescence induced by environmental stress is mediated via the p16INK4a/Rb pathway (Jacobs and de Lange, 2004). Our data showing that senescence of balding DPC is associated with increased expression of p16INK4a and pRb and not p53 suggests that the senescence of balding DPC in vitro is stimulated by environmental stress and is not due to replicative senescence.

Overexpression of Bmi-1, a suppressor of p16 and p19, extends the replicative lifespan of mouse and human fibroblasts (Jacobs et al., 1999). Therefore, our data showing Bmi-1 expression in non-balding but not in balding DPC correlates with the respective expression of p16INK4a in these cells and provides further evidence that the premature senescence of balding DPC is associated with the p16INK4a pathway and that this may be mediated via downregulation of Bmi-1.

Increased expression of p16INK4a has been reported previously in cell senescence resulting from DNA damage (Robles and Adami, 1998) and oxidative stress (Chen, 2000).

Inui et al. (2002) have reported that cultured balding DPC secrete more TGF-β than non-balding cells. TGF-β is known to stimulate oxidative stress in human fibroblasts (Thannickal and Fanburg, 1995). It is therefore possible that increased production of TGF-β in vivo in response to androgens may initiate cellular stress responses in balding hair follicles in vivo.

seems like topical application of ginseng is not the perfect solution, it exceeds the 500 rule
would ingesting be enough? probably not strong enough?
probably the pharma industry needs to invent a similar molecule with stronger workings to get this going
Going by that study it looks like the holy grail lol. Are all types of Ginseng the same? Red, panax etc maybe not, one just could be the ticket. Who knows
