I am 22 and have been diagonsed with prostatitis. While their is no cure, it can be treated. My doctor mentioned a few drugs that can help, one being Proscar. I know that it is basically a generic form of Propecia, a drug I wanted to try for my receeding hairline, but was denied due to testical pain I have been experiencing due to my lousy prostate.

The doctor also mentioned that Avodart is quite helpful for people with prostate problems and suggested I might need to be on it should my study medication not help. I was wondering how safe and effective the drug is for baldness? According to my research it is difficult to get on this drug specifically for baldness, is this right? I suppose if this is the case then one good thing has come from me having prostatitis.

Nextly, should I go for it and why? I've head that it is an...intense drug.

Thanks.

At 22 i bet your doctor is wrong,i will also bet that your doctor you are seeing is not a urologest.someone your age just does not let any thing build up in your prostate to get infected if you no what i mean.LOL You had better see a uroligest insted of this doctor.
i no its no fun with the finger test but see another doctor.Anyhow prostatitis is treated with antibiotics and warm baths
