I was hoping for some discussion and recommendations regarding sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) free shampoos for daily use. Since I can remember when I come out of the shower having used any shampoo, my scalp is immediately itchy. Its obviously itchy if I avoid washing too.

I have been using 2% Nizoral recently (every 4-5 days) which uses SLS and I don't think that will be a practical option for me in the long term, nor would I want to be on it long term. I've been looking at Regenepure DR (1% keto, SLS free) shampoo.

  • Could I get away with using the Regenepure every day? Would it be unwise?
  • If I can't use Regenepure daily, do you have any recommendations for a mild SLS-free daily shampoo?
  • What do we think is stronger for combatting male pattern baldness, 2% nizoral every 4-5 days or 1% Regenepure DR every other day?
  • Are there any other SLS-free keto shampoos that I've overlooked that might be superior to Regenepure DR?
  • Any other comments, perhaps you don't think its the SLS causing issues for me?

I'm currently using Tricomin as a daily shampoo, which I believe uses SLS as a foaming agent. I look forward (hopefully, this seems a quieter board than 'new research' etc.) to some discussion, thanks. I know there have been several similar topics but I didn't find a thread I felt worth bumping or contained the up-to-date opinions on products I'm hoping for. Thor9 was talking a bit about this but it was discussing an american product (daily use SLS-free shampoo) I might struggle to get hold of (UK) and I also wanted to discuss Regenepure etc.

Do you use a shower filter?

Thanks for the links. No I don't believe so unless its built into the shower head, the water up here is pretty horrendous I would imagine.
