Some questions about toppik

Hi guys,

I just have some quick questions about toppik that I hope someone can answer :)

Can I still use styling product if I use toppik, I currently use some kind of wax/paste?

can I use it on my hairline, Im about a nw3 but with a lot of thinning hairs visible on the hairline, where it hasnt quite receded yet.

My hair is medium length, with thinning on the crown/top, do you have to have short hair to use toppick?

Is this stuff going to run if it gets wet? (in the rain for example)

Can people still touch my hair, without getting a hand full of the stuff?

Anyone know how dark the dark brown option is, I have dark brown to black hair and not sure which to go with

lastly, I work in a retail store with pretty bright overhead lights, will it be noticeable?

Thanks for any help! :)

1. Yes you can still use styling gels and wax - in fact this helps it keep in place. A lot of people pan the Toppik Hairspray, but it isn't that bad for the price

2. It depends on the type of your hair loss. I've seen a few posters here apply it to hairlines and it looks pretty well.

3. You don't have to have short hair. My hair is at a medium length and I've used it to much success.

4. Toppik isn't waterproof but I've never had it run along the side of my head, if that's what you're worried about. If you are concerned about water, I'd go the dermmatch route. People can still touch your hair.

I'm trying to be as helpful as I can, but unfortunately a lot of these questions you pose are on a case by case basis. I have diffuse thinning and I use concealers. I've never had anyone ever come up to me and ask if there is something in my hair.

I have been caught in the rain with Toppik in as well, while riding my bike. It wasn't a downpour but it wasn't drizzling either, and I was fearing what it would look like when I got home. To my surprise, it looked... exactly how it did when I had left. Of course I use hairspray so maybe that helped repel the water a little.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

I ordered a tub off amazon, its shipping from the US so I think it will take a while to get here :(

Just to clarify, this isnt going to come off on my hand if me or someone else touches my hair?

Thanks again! Hope it provides a little boost to my thinning top!

I've never used toppik but I have used nanogen (I believe is very similar). Are you in the UK or Europe? You can order nanogen from Garden pharmacy online, and it would come quicker to you.

I've been in rain with nanogen before and it was fine. It wasn't a downpour, but it was heavy raining and I had to walk for 5 mins in the rain with a group of friends and girls. I was really fearing a ''What the heck is that black stuff coming down your forehead?'' comment once we got indoors, but it managed to hold up well and - maybe some might have came off, but none came down my forehead or on my face.

Also, I live in a windy place - we're near the sea and 15mph is a normal day here for us so I was fearful of using it in strong winds too - incase it blew all over the place or even rubbed off on the forehead.
It held up against some very strong winds especially 18 holes on a links golf course in 30mph winds.
