Hi,

I just need some straight answers from those that have used propecia. I have read of the "side effects" of propecia but what I'm looking for are real world examples and experiences. Like will taking propecia make you impetent.... Permanently? one guy said that it did and it still is that way after a YEAR of being off it. Will it affect you as far as if you work out will you not get the gains you would normally? Will it make you start "gyno" or I guess you grow tits or something! This stuff seems scary can someone please just tell me the real world side effects and if they are permanent. I was really interested in this stuff untill I started surfin around these forums.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Yes. To everything you asked. But....not to everybody. Not even to very many.

And you? Take it now with little or no real knowledge and you'll end up freaking at the first sign, quit, and come back and tell us all how terrible it is.
Take it a month from now after you've spent a few hours weighing all the information and you'll be better prepared to make rational judgements.

So the answer is: take the time to learn everything before deciding.

my libido is STRONG..... ive been on it for a year and dont have any side effects
i heard the % is very low and some side effects were with a sugar pill (fake pill) this is what i was told by my Doctor anyway

this tells me that it can be somewhat mental

i take a good multivitamin and maybe it could help
i also take he shou wu which supposedly help circulation to the scalp and helps the libido in some ways as well

you can find it at GNC its also called FO-Ti
give it a go and keep thinking you are rock hard

im 24 so maybe it affects people that are older than me
i dunno
hope this helps
good luck

Hey Scott,

Be concerned, like you are. Here's my story, in brief. Took Propecia for 6 days, experienced watery ejaculate and difficulty climaxing. Got scared, stopped. 3 weeks later, I'm having difficulty even getting hard and my testicles seem to have undergone a radical change (for the worse). I noticed, as well, that there was significant hair shedding at my temples within that one week of use. Also, as someone else mentioned in another post, I got rings under my eyes as though I had aged 5-10 years. That seems to have gotten a little better now, but the sexual side effects persist.
I'M NOT IMAGINING ALL OF THIS. Be very weary of this drug. Good luck to you otherwise. (And if you'd like, you can wish me good luck with my problem too:)

You dont need luck, you need a physician.

Fear fear fear

Those who experience unfortunate side effects tend to be unproportionately vocal.

Can these things happen? Sure. Will these things happen to you? The odds of permanent sexual dysfunctino or gyno are minute. Theyre there, but theyre minute.

Like Thinstinks, my libido is still tops, and my hair is lookin good. I've been on it 4 months. I'd reccomend finasteride/min/nizoral to anyone.

Six days is too little for the drug to do any permanent damage.

Not to discount NoPro but....he appears to be the classic example of somebody who jumped right in without doing his homework. 6 days on, sides, freak, quit. Then come here and complain....

Watery ejaculate, lowered libido, testi pain, etc. - these are all fairly common symptoms of a changing hormonal profile. Most of us had some of these and more....only to see them subside after a few weeks.

NoPro - get yourself to a doctor and get checked out. I'd bet that whatever ails you is as likely to be a triggered pre-existing condition or psychological as it is the finasteride. But, I'm no doctor so go find out for sure.

Hiya.

Well my story is I have recently turned 30 having been gradually losing hair for about 6 months, I was very weary of propecia as I have heard a lot of stories also about bad side effects...

When I went to my doctor he did put me at ease as he said he has a lot of paitents that take propecia without any side effects, he said to me that he believes alot of the problems could come down to mentely worrying about it, if you constantly worry about the pill or think about the side effects then the chanes are it will effect you in sex.

I have just finished my first month on propecia and after the 2nd week I did notice my libido was less, it seems back to normal now. I would say my ejaculate is slightly less(but not watery). I can handle that if its my only side effect.

My advice is if hair loss really ruins your life then give it a try. For me losing my hair really effected my life on a daily basis, a day wouldn`t go by without me thinking about my hair.....I guess propecia was my only hope, at the moment I am glad I took it. time will tell if it was the right choice...

i have had a couple of glasses of wine toight so please forgive me for any errors in my grammer
