I have been coming to this forum since july this year and i have seen a lot of negative things from some people about rogaine foam so i just want to add a positive story about it.
I am 27 years old and i first started noticing my temples receding slightly around 20 yrs old. From about 23-24 yrs old my crown lost alot of hair and within the last year or two the whole top of my head was diffuse thinning very badly. I have always just accepted that i was going bald and really wasnt motivated enough to do anything about it. well, my mom told me she can get me free rogaine through a relative who works for the company. so i thought i would try it. i have been using it since about july 25th (almost 3 months) and i can see a big improvement in my hair. before using it my hair, especially on top, felt very brittle and weak and if i rubbed my head i could see hairs falling out all over. since using rogaine foam (and 1% nizoral 4 times/week) my hair looks and feels MUCH thicker and i can no longer see hairs falling out or on my pillow. My crown feels like its getting thicker and the top of my head seems much better. my hair even looks darker i think, because it is healthier. my temples are receded to about a Norwood 2.5 or 3 but even they look like they are getting SLIGHTLY better. i am not expecting my temples to come all the way back but even if the hairline improves a little bit i will be happy.
anyway, needless to say i am so far pleased with the results, even if they are just making my hair feel healthier overall, i am optimistic. i still havent experienced "the shed" as of yet and i dont know if i will, but even if i do i will stick with it.
for those wanting to know my regimen i apply the foam in the morning. a small amount on the crown and then i rub probably almost a capful all over the top of my head and into the temples/hairline. my second application is usually done after my shower in evening. i apply it to a damp scalp which i think may be beneficial because it feels like the minoxidil is getting down to the follicles better??????
i should say that i was massaging my head and doing some scalp excercises for about 2 months till i got lazy and quit, but i think that improving blood flow helped the overall health of the hair. also i added nizoral 1% about a month into it and immediately believed it was beneficial.
i wish i had taken picture in july so i could be sure im not just overly enthusiastic, however, any step in the positive is all i needed, hopefully it doesnt go downhill
sorry for the puntuation but i hope this helps someones confidence in this product
