Sort Of Complimented On My Horseshoe By A Full Head (!?)

Alright so i had a rare moment of socialization the other week. I went to wal-mart with a friend, someone i didnt know, and an acquaintance. This shaved down bald guy walked past and the guy i didnt know mumbled under his breath (in a joking way) "man what are you looking at, damn baldie".

I decided to joke along and say "hey! hey!" in a reprimanding way and he was like "yea you are bald but at least you have the "chill ***" sides growing out". i was flattered lol. i thought my grown out horseshoe looked bad but this full head didnt think so apparently

and now that i think on it there does seem to be a "hard ***" thing associated with a mr. clean style shaved head. grown out horseshoe is more of a "i don't care" hippie look.

man i gotta say i admire the balls it takes to lets a horseshoe grow out. your half asian though right? i would have thought been darker skinned would let you shave it and look good.

and lol well it took a long time to get out of being a hat prisoner. only a year or two i've stopped wearing them . being in public i don't care but goddamn i wouldn't go to college like this lol. i mean in public no one cares, you are just another bald guy. but places with young people its like NOPE.

i feel extremely subhuman in front of girls though, and f*****g hell with hot girls its like jeezus. AND theres a fuking hot girl next door and i just had to talk to her ugh. fuuuuuuuuuck i hate it lol.

man i do feel for u. so how do you style your hair? have you anything on top? i saw an actor recently who instead of shaves his nw5/6 goes the other way and lets it grow out randomly. i was impressed when i saw him

i thought he pulled it off well.

maybe cos hes abit older it suits him. but i just like that he didnt just shave it/be reserved with it.

have you posted a pic of your hair? id love to see how you style it if you dont just buzz it, especially being a young guy

im on no meds atm, which is my hair is rapidly falling out looool. need to get back on something soon

i will have too soon. its getting too thin to use concealer effectively. i will give it another go with meds first though and see. i wanted try and wait it out a few more years really until better treatments come along but im not optimistic about that anymore.

i let it grow out and then trim it down to a 4 or 5 .

pretty much like louis ck, who i actually think still looks pretty good

LOL I wish I lived in the US and England. Here in Italy the consider you bald if you're already Norwood 3, they called me "skinhead" with buzzed (2mm) Norwood 3 hair 2 years ago. We're all fucked.

Some days ago a female colleague of mine was commenting on a new hire: "how can they say he looks good? He is bald". He was a NW2 (if not 1.5).

damn, I don't think I could pull off the shaved head either so I probly will have to grow out a horseshoe when it gets to that point. Something about the horseshoe just frustrates me though , maybe its cause of the contrast with the hair on top that pisses me off

The problem is it was merely buzzed down, not shaved. But my hair loss is so bad that my head looks shaved anyway. Well, I'll be Norwood 5 by next year so I'll really have to shave my head, with everything that goes with it.

The grown out horseshoe is a shining beacon of not giving a f*** for all bald guys. If you can reach the stage of having that, and genuinely not caring about it (and not just saying you don't care, but feeling it) it's like some baldness meditative Nirvana you've attained. Or a state of catatonia.
