Soy extract prevents the hair loss effect of testosterone by inhibiting the binding of testosterone to the hair and scalp receptor. Soy extracts also raise systemic levels of sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG), and upregulate VEGF(vascular endothelium growth factor). A recently published study showed that merely consuming soy milk and small amounts of soy protein significantly lowered blood levels of DHT. Oral soy extracts can be combined with other pharmaceutical treatments for hair loss without adversely affecting the beneficial and positive effects of such treatments.

I dunno it depends what outweighs what. It is believed to increase IGF-1, which will increase your free T. Enough of it would probably even increase your insulin resistance.

However, it also lowers your testosterone itself. So god knows, it depends which one outweighs the other!

I would say that overall it's bad... but I'm not sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But soya milk will only lower testosterone if you are in fact an equol producer. Which, if you are not from asia, you are probably not.

I've never heard of equol being a factor here... I guess it's possible. Any sources for that?

Other benefits may be realized in treating male pattern baldness, acne, and other problems because it functions as a DHT blocker.

So, dump hormone injected milk and drink organic soy milk. Makes sense.

May as well just take lignans really :) Or maybe curcumin!

Don't they do the same thing as soya but in a more balanced way (plus they take estrogen down with them! hehe)? :)
