I've only noticed the solution becoming sticky if I over apply it. The bottle states to apply 10 sprays to the thinning area. I usually give my crown 3 sprays, and both temples 2 or 3.

Its a hot humid summer where I am so I make sure I will be somewhere cool after applying the solution for the first 10 minutes or so, so that I don't sweat it off
