spironolactone with Propecia and the sides

Does anyone know if using spironolactone with propecia could increase your chances of side effects?????
spironolactone is completely metabolized in the skin and I would think that spironolactone would not increase your chances of side effects while on finasteride. finasteride inhibits DHT internally and spironolactone inhibits DHT within the dermal layers of the scalp. I was asked the above question yesterday and I guess maybe I'm not real sure of the answer.
