My hair loss started about 2 years ago. When I noticed it I started using the Revita shampoo which greatly decreased my hair loss. Now my hair loss has either stopped or is proceeding at a very slow pace - it's hard to tell sometimes.
Meanwhile I've been thinking about a way to regain what I have already lost. I heard finasteride can, in some instances, make the hair you lost grow back in addition to preventing further hair loss. I bought Procsar and cut the pill into smaller pieces (each piece weighs about 1mg now).
After taking it for the first time, I noticed shedding the following day when I was washing my hair. Normally I lose 5-10 hairs per wash, after taking Proscar this increased to 10-20. From what I've read shedding while using Proscar can occur but it usually happens a couple of months after the first use. In my case the shedding came the day after taking my first piece which is worrying. Also, after washing my hair I notice no additional shedding - I can run my fingers through my hair and nothing comes out - it's as if all of the weak hairs were lost during the hair washing process.
Having said that, should I stop using Proscar? It obviously works different on me than on most people.
