Hi,

I am 31 years old. I had a hair transplant last year with poor results. I recently started 0.5 mg avodart daily. I was wondering if I am a good candidate for this medication based on my photos. I would like to have children in within the next 3-4 years. So my question is whether I am a good candidate to be on this medication or should I have another hair transplant? I started avodart last week so I can always have my Doctor switch it to propecia to be on the safer side?

So what should be my next option? another hair transplant. Possibly a Fut now since the FUE results are disappointing.

Dutasteride has produced some pretty amazing results, try dutasteride for 6 months and then assess transplant options from there. Utilizing chest hair, leg hair, mixed in with "donor area" can give awesome results.

I will come back to this thread and post results of someone who was skin bald and regained huge amounts of ground on dutasteride.

edit: from user @Tumi1509 's results:

For the time being though, definitely shave it, keeping it long like that looks silly and actually makes you look like an old man compared to the cleaner buzzed look. Buzz it down with a 1 guard.

Wow. Impressive results! I will stay on avodart for 6 months before considering a hair system.
