That's funny i started my proscar yesterday. Race is on!
Hope this helps my hairloss cause ive been shedding like crazy for 4-6 months due to a crash diet im guessing where i was eating less then 1000 cals a day and working out/running everyday. before this my hairloss wasnt really noticable to others because i was a diffused thinner. i was also on a somewhat strict diet eating tuna/blueberries/salads/olive oil/omega3 everyday. all stuff that i need to get back to incorporating into my day again.

Sounds like you might have Telogen Effluvium...did you see a doctor first?

havent seen a doctor about it yet, i do have an appointment scheduled with one that i've been waiting for months for. Skaff, thanks for bringing this to my attention, i'm pretty new on these forums and remembered reading about it. ill bring this to my docs attention. in the mean time im not sure if i should just stop the proscar until i see him or just continue it.

any advice is welcomed

I was thinking that mcsirc may have Telogen Effluvium...sometimes crash diets, losing a lot of weight can cause hair loss. Although it's usually several months after the event that you actually begin to lose hair.

About wrinkles...I'm not sure if you're referring to some of my other posts...it was a concern of mine also. But from what I've read, as long your skin doesn't get excessively dry you should be OK. Hormonal changes can effect the skin's thickness but any difference finasteride may make is likely to be negligible.

No worries...
Maybe you should stop. Firstly (and least important), the Doctor may not like the fact you got finasteride without a prescription (I'm assuming that's what you did). Secondly, he may want to do a scalp biopsy or blood tests to see if it could be Telogen Effluvium and finasteride can interfere with the results (that's what my Doctor told me). But if you've only been on it couple weeks it should be OK.

hey skaff thanks for the reply. i did get a script from my regular MD. but no test where ran. he gave it to me on just my say so, and he called it male pattern baldness without even looking at it. i have only taken 3 doses of finasteride (3 days) at the 1.25 really no sides other than what seems to be dry eyes? if it"s not male pattern baldness for some reason continuing may do more harm than good? i guess i need to stop and see a derm and find out for sure. i don"t want to get weeks into this, shed a bunch of hair, only to find out later it wasn"t what i thought it was.......................thx

why would you not think you don't have male pattern baldness, male pattern baldness is so easy to diagnose... i can look at any man and just look at the hair and tell, that miniaturizations look is indistinguishable
