Starting finasteride

I am a 19 year old boy starting finasteride, as everyone else has I've heard horror stories about its side effects. I was just looking for any pointers on when I should stop if something happens, for example if I start becoming less horny/takes longer to get erections should I stop or is it worth trying to wait it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Side effects seem to be the most common initially (during the first 0-6 months) and usually gradually taper off over time. It's up to you if the side effects are worth waiting out, or if they affect your quality of life to a degree that it's not worth putting up with.

Make sure you realize that side effects are rare, and occur in around 2% of people. Sides such as testicular soreness and decreased ejaculate may be slightly more common, but these are usually transient. Also remember that many of the sexual related side effects can by caused by psychosomatic reasons. If you think and worry about them enough, you can cause them to occur even through no direct effect of the drug.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, if I physically can't get it up then that's it for me but I won't stress about it too much, I heard sex is 30% physical and 70% mental so I understand that some people think their way into sides sometimes.

As a 19 year old male, you should be much more concerned with your potency than your hair. Don't sacrifice your virility for your vanity. That's the tradeoff you get with finasteride--stop male pattern baldness by blocking male hormones.

It's somethng that I've thought about for a year and I came to the conclusion that it is 100% worth a try. If I didnt then I may end up bald and bitter at a young age wondering what mightve happened if I took finasteride.
