I have rogaine 5% waiting for me to open.

what is the best way to apply this stuff. I really truely only can do it at night.. i work sometimes at 6 AM and i cant get up at 430 to be dealing with this stuff. will that be alright!? (only PM application)

like i said.. it's mainly for the frontal or hairline/temples.. so whats your advice?

the most important thing is to wipe off the dropper after you dip it. keeps the stuff off your hair.

Other than that you can do no wrong jeffsss.

Good choice jumping on it, if you respond it will be earlier and better than a finasteride response, most likely.

jeffsss:
apply twice a day is your best bet although some articles that i read before suggest that one time per day is enough. there is no reason for you to wait up so much eariler for that as it only take at most 2mins to apply.

cook'n'milkies:
i am using the long neck nozzle for application. is using the dropper a lot better?

what are your opinions on wet/dry applications??

after shower?

and if i use copper peptides, before or after rogaine?

if i decide to start using it in the am. can i still use hair spray or styling gunk?

I now apply minoxidil once a day on a wet head, for greater absorption, and see no difference -- in shedding -- over twice a day on a dry head. I also notice it's a lot easier to style my hair on minoxidil once daily, as opposed to twice daily would start to make my hair look really funny. :) And while it increased my heartbeat at first, my body eventually adapted to such a high level of minoxidil being absorbed. Maybe this will be your experience, as well.

I also found that minoxidil worked almost miraculously overall on my hairline and temples.

My only recommendation is to be prepared with a remedy for any itching and irritation. Because for the first few months, there were times where you literally want to rip your scalp off, until you find a really good treatment.... that is. ;) Good luck.

you can apply to wet hair as long as it is not dripping wet.

not too sure about copper peptides. my guess is you should apply it after minoxidil.

yes. you can styling stuffs after applying rogaine. wait until you are just about to leave your house before apply to give it some time to work. make it the last thing you do before leaving.

I put on twice a day, once before work at around 5:45 am, and again when coming home. However, since I introduced the American Crew Revitalizing copper peptides, i do that after work, and minoxidil a couple hours later. For itching, go with T-Gel shampoo, you can use the generic versions as well. Just compare the ingredients and make sure it is pretty much the same coal tar. If you use copper peptides, it is best to use them in your favor for a soothing effect. They really relieved my itching scalp. Therefore, you might consider applying them maybe an hour or two after minoxidil sets in. It will then take care of the itching. That would be my guess.

Hi Jeff, you need to use it 2X/day, as directed, if at all possible. It's really not that big of a deal once you get into the habit.

I've found that it's easily applied right after showering. Towel-dry your hair then apply to affected areas. Spread it/massage it in very gently - you'll know the right amount. Go ahead and comb your hair while it's still damp just to get it to lay down (or up as the case may be). Then grab some breakfast in the kitchen or what have you. My minoxidil (and most of my hair) dries in about 15 minutes after this regimen. Afterwards, go back and do your normal styling.

Right before bed, just put it on and gently massage it in. That's it!

I spend a grand total of no more than 5 minutes per DAY doing this.

It takes a few applications to master it. Don't be surprised if some drips down your face at first. Also, as someone stated above, you'll go through a period of itching and possibly flaking. Just use anti-dandruff shampoo and eventually your scalp will become accustomed to things - or at least mine did.

Why don't you post some "before" pictures so we can track your progress? As HairLossTalk.com mentioned in one of the primers, it helps to have a reference - and the associated support and commentary of the folks here.
You're your worst critic and others can often see things more objectively during the times when you start doubting.

You're doing the right thing - good luck bud.
