It's been about two years since I last posted here but was a regular contributor to the forums years before that.
I have been losing my since I was about 21. I am now 39. The problem with my hair loss is that it's not fast. It's been very very slow and to be honest my hair is in great shape even coming to the big 40.
I used Proscar prescribed by my Dr on a private prescription and I can say that it has helped greatly. These days I don't tend to worry too much about hair loss, I take my Proscar when I can remember, might miss a day here and there but I can say that it has helped keep my hair the same for more or less the last 4 years. So I would say that my hair loss regimen has been a success.
I did have a break from Proscar for about three months a while back and I did notice that my hair started to thin. As soon as I get back on it my hair recovers and thickens.
I have thinning around the temples and maybe general thinning on the scalp but in general I have really good coverage. I actually enjoy going to the barbers these days because a decent cut makes it look great.
A quick hello to Gardener and others and hope your hair is still in good shape. I do feel for you other guys who seem to lose your hair quite quickly at an early age but you have to remember that it really is not the end of the world. You can still lead a normal life and the important thing is to stay fit and healthy. That more than makes up for hair loss.
Keep up the good work and maybe I will post some pics sometime so you can see my progress and the state of my hairloss. My young son who is just 17 months old has the same hair pattern as me. I can already see how his hair loss will affect him later in life. He has nothing to worry about because he looks quite cool and will probably end up the same as me. Not aggressive hair loss, just slow and steady over a very long period.
I might contribute a bit more to the forums in the future but have been really busy with baba and partner.
