Hey Guys,

I've been on generic finasteride for around 8 months. With no side effects.
Some mornings when waking up with bed hair and combing my hair im noticing around 20-30 hairs in coming out in the comb.

I'm not too sure how much i was shedding before i started finnasteride as i diden't really notice hair falling out just knew i was receding.

Could it be the brand of finnasteride or should i try dutastride? theres not a great deal i cant find about dutastride so some any input on how to take it would be great.

Currently using actavis aindeem brand finnasteride from medexpress . co . uk

i lost ground on finasteride too, i was on it roughly the same amount of time as you, i switched to dutasteride a couple of months ago. I would say switch to dutasteride, the sides are the same as finasteride for me, slighlty lower libido and decrease in semen volume. With dutasteride you know you are doing everything short of HRT to tackle your hairloss. Good luck

If you're not noticing ANY changed in shedding after 8 months you should probably upgrade to duta

Thanks for the input. When you switched over how did you transition between drugs ? or did you just stop finasteride completely and start taking dutasteride or slowly phase one out? Has dutasteride since stopped your loss compared with finasteride?

I took finasteride and dutasteride together for about a month, just until my finasteride ran out, im just on dutasteride now and while i can't be certain i think im experiencing less shedding and overall im happy i made the switch, in fact i wish i started dutasteride straight away, maybe i wouldn't have lost as much ground as i did in the 9 or so months i was taking finasteride.

That's where i got my dutasteride from, i was taking finasteride daily and dutasteride every second day until i ran out of finasteride, now im taking dutasteride everyday. I think you can take every second day with no problems because of the long half life if you are trying to save money, it just takes longer for it to reach the 90 odd percent dht inhibition than taking it everyday. It's up to you really.

I’d add dermarolling (and minoxidil if you can handle it) to your regimen.
